{"id":796,"date":"2008-06-05T18:06:54","date_gmt":"2008-06-05T22:06:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.n1zyy.com\/n1zyy\/?p=796"},"modified":"2008-06-05T18:06:54","modified_gmt":"2008-06-05T22:06:54","slug":"obama-wins-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.n1zyy.com\/n1zyy\/2008\/06\/05\/obama-wins-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Obama Wins!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Ed.: Because the blogs have been slow, and because this is a hot topic, I&#8217;ve fudged the date on this to appear to have been published two days later, so it will stay on the main page a bit longer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.n1zyy.com\/n1zyy\/files\/2008\/06\/bt15843-1-21.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-798\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.n1zyy.com\/n1zyy\/files\/2008\/06\/bt15843-1-21-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Obama Logo\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>It looks like <a href=\"http:\/\/ap.google.com\/article\/ALeqM5i23h4XqvR0Ph96aWYyZ4PgI54YCwD912RAQO0\">Obama is the Democratic nominee<\/a>, while Hillary Clinton, the woman who has twice alluded to Obama being assassinated (okay, the first time was a speaker at her event, not her), has conceded that she&#8217;d be open to running as his VP.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d be happier with an Obama-Richardson ticket, but people are calling Obama-Clinton the fastest way to try to heal the wounds this election cycle saw. In her defense, if she doesn&#8217;t get him assassinated, she&#8217;d make an excellent VP.<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, I&#8217;ll be watching the news tonight for what may be two very historic speeches: Obama&#8217;s victory speech and Hillary&#8217;s concession speech. (It seems like it was just weeks ago that Obama gave his &#8220;<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"267\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Fe751kMBwms?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen title=\"Barack Obama: Yes We Can\"><\/iframe>&#8221; that was anything but a concession speech, in New Hampshire, which led to <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"267\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jjXyqcx-mYY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen title=\"Yes We Can - Barack Obama Music Video\"><\/iframe>.)<\/p>\n<p>The AP story is hot off the press, and many MSM outlets aren&#8217;t carrying it yet. Whether that&#8217;s because the polls don&#8217;t close for two hours, because it&#8217;s not factual, or just because MSM isn&#8217;t as obsessed with checking Google News as I am remains to be seen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> It seems that <a href=\"http:\/\/thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com\/2008\/06\/03\/clinton-campaign-confronts-ap-report\/\">Hillary hasn&#8217;t conceded quite yet<\/a>. Honestly, I&#8217;m not sure how the AP is so sure that Obama&#8217;s won yet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update 2<\/strong>: USA Today has <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.usatoday.com\/onpolitics\/2008\/06\/ap-obama-clinch.html\">a good piece<\/a> suggesting that, while Obama might do it tonight, it&#8217;s still about 30 delegates premature.
