{"id":2181,"date":"2009-08-15T20:24:29","date_gmt":"2009-08-16T00:24:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.n1zyy.com\/n1zyy\/?p=2181"},"modified":"2009-08-15T20:24:29","modified_gmt":"2009-08-16T00:24:29","slug":"political-surveys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.n1zyy.com\/n1zyy\/2009\/08\/15\/political-surveys\/","title":{"rendered":"Political Surveys"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Next time I&#8217;m questioning politicians who campaign in my state, I have a new question to ask: <em>Will you fight to make political polls and political ads have to follow the same Do Not Call registry laws as non-political callers?<\/em> A good follow-up will be, <em>Does your campaign make use of robo-dialers?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I think it&#8217;s something that most everyone on both sides would truthfully have to answer &#8220;Of course not, my right to bombard your cell phone with campaign ads is far too important.&#8221; But I also think that well over 99% of those in the audience would take a keen interest in their explanation of why they think they should remain exempt from the rules.<\/p>\n<p>This is, of course, spurred by a recent call on my cell phone asking about my take on abortion and gay marriage. I was out of the room and it went to voicemail. I called the number back, but it just rings and rings, or throws a busy signal. This has been the case on over 100 attempts.
