But none are totally free, or actively promoting their use. Android seems like the perfect phone for geeks.<\/p>\n<p>They even had a <a href=\"http:\/\/code.google.com\/android\/adc_gallery\/\">Developer Challenge<\/a> giving away lots of money for applications, with some neat ones as results. There&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/apps-for-android\/\">another gallery of applications<\/a> out there, too. T-Mobile has accidentally (?) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2008\/09\/25\/t-mobile-g1-manual-leaks-out\/\">published the manual<\/a> online, and Engadget has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2008\/09\/23\/t-mobiles-cto-on-g1-unlocking-and-tethering-plus-a-few-detai\/\">an interview with the CTO<\/a>, who basically says that, while they don&#8217;t really <em>like<\/em> unlocking phones \/ tethering, they don&#8217;t intend to cripple this phone.<\/p>\n<p>iPhone?
