Obama’s “Yes We Can” Speech<\/h1>\n
The song is famous, but I love the original speech, too. It’s from January of 2008, and was delivered at Nashua High after the polls closed in the New Hampshire primary. (I was actually supposed to be there that night, after a day of GOTV, but was tired and went home to rest.) It was actually a concession speech: despite having kept a ten-point lead in the polls in the weeks leading up to the polls<\/p>\n
The speech contains some of my favorite quotes, which I include below. It also makes a reference to “a King who took us to the mountaintop and pointed the way to the promised land.” (See above!)<\/p>\n
