I find the top-aligned ones to be the most ambiguous, because in a long list, they start appearing sandwiched in between fields, and sometimes it almost looks like they can go to the one above it.

I think I prefer the right-aligned ones, though: it's easy enough for me to read. (If they wrap, you can use a table with alternating background colors.)</description>
