I am somewhat obsessive in that I really like things neat, organized, clean and very “ship shape.” But unfortunately I’m not compulsive about getting things that way.

That's me to a T.

Every once in a great while, I "snap" and clean. But what I'm always surprised is how quick and easy it was... I get to the point where I keep putting it off because it'll take too long. And then I finally do it, and 20 minutes later it's done. (Of course I have a dorm room with not a lot of stuff, not a home office.)

A side benefit is that, if you wait until you're frankly angry about the mess, you're much more willing to throw stuff away.
