Let’s face it, every now and then certain people need to be reminded that Google still exists, and that it can still be used to find the answers to the simple, often stupid questions they’re asking. I mean, half of the time the answers are in the first page of results. It’s not rocket science.

Enter Let Me Google That For You. Perhaps slightly harsh, it’s a wakeup call for those pestering you. Brilliant.

    Yeah great. Except that the people who don’t know enough to use a search engine are generally really bad about how they use it once they are pointed to one.

    That being said I do get a lot of questions that people could search for themselves. Occasionally I will do a search if I have the time, interest and its in my self-interest to do so. Lately though I have been telling people to search on their own. Especially when they ask for for something local to them and they are on the other side of the world.

    If they don’t know how to use the search engine, that’s one thing, and I’ll generally cut them some slack. But people who are technically competent (like software developers) who would rather ask someone else than take the 2 minutes to hit Google are generally deserving of a little friendly reminder. 🙂
